What's Included In The Clarity Pathway?

The Clarity Pathway is the fastest way to get defensible, work-focused absence decisions tailored to your workforce, your cases, and your specific questions, without the weeks-long waits, vague reports, or legal guesswork.

Because let us face it, you already know occupational health referrals work.

You have seen the cases that resolved quickly when HR had clear medical guidance. You have heard employment lawyers stress the importance of documented OH input. And you have probably thought about switching providers, or referring that stuck case sitting on your desk right now.

But the part nobody talks about?

Most OH providers are broken.

Three-to-six-week waits for an appointment. Template reports stuffed with medical jargon that do not answer what you actually asked. Vague recommendations like “consider adjustments” with zero specifics on what those adjustments should be.

And by the time the report lands on your desk, the case has festered for another month, costing you thousands in absence, overtime, and agency cover.

Meanwhile, you are fielding questions from the COO about the plan for long-term cases. You do not have a plan.

Because you do not have medical clarity. And without medical clarity, every decision feels like a liability waiting to happen.

But the Clarity Pathway flips the script.

We have eliminated the weeks-long waits, the vague template reports, and the frustration of a report that does not answer your question.

Instead, with our proven work-focused assessment process, you'll get:

  • A clear fitness-for-work status that tells you exactly where the employee stands, with no ambiguity and no hedging.
  • Specific return-to-work timescales you can actually plan around, so you can give senior leadership a credible answer.
  • Practical adjustment recommendations that are ready to implement, not vague suggestions.
  • Direct guidance on Equality Act considerations, so nothing important is missed.
  • Fitness-to-attend-meetings confirmation, so capability, disciplinary and welfare meetings do not stall.
  • A documented, defensible decision trail backed by independent medical opinion.
  • The report is issued the same day as the assessment in 95% of cases.

We are not giving you another slow, vague OH provider with a shiny website and the same broken process.

Or asking you to just use the GP fit note when it says nothing useful.

Because after delivering hundreds of absence management assessments across manufacturing, construction, engineering, transport, and education, Mark Philpott and the NPH Group team realised something most providers ignore:

HR does not need more medical information. HR needs medical information translated into workplace decisions.

That is the difference. That is what work-focused actually means. Not a clinical summary. Not a medical history recap. A report that answers your specific questions with guidance you can implement straight away.

The top-performing HR leaders do not tolerate uncertainty. They value speed and clarity over the cheapest quote. They want an independent medical opinion they can anchor every decision to, so when the COO asks what the plan is, they have one.

Which is why Mark and the NPH Group clinical team will personally ensure every referral you submit comes back with answers, not more questions.

And once you receive your report, making defensible decisions becomes simple, because all you have to do is read the guidance and act on it. No interpretation needed. No second-guessing.

Which means cases that used to drag on for 8, 10, 12 weeks start resolving in 4 to 6.

Which is how you finally get ahead of absence, strategically and confidently, while other HR leaders are still chasing GP fit notes that say nothing.

How the Clarity Pathway Works

Get work-focused absence clarity in just 4 steps.

Step #1

Submit Your Referral. Complete the structured referral form via the secure client portal. Include the job demands, the attendance history, and the specific questions you need answered. It takes about 10 to 15 minutes, and our Customer Service Advisor will walk you through it if you have not done one before. The referral is shared transparently with the employee.

Step #2

We Triage & Book. Every referral is triaged for complexity before booking. Routine cases get 60 minutes. Complex cases, including mental health, Equality Act considerations and multiple conditions, get 90 minutes. Exceptionally complex situations get up to 120 minutes.

That means you get the right guidance on the first consultation, not a rushed slot. We then confirm the appointment and book the right clinician (OHA or OHP) via secure video, telephone, or face to face.

Step #3

Assessment Takes Place. Your employee is assessed by a qualified Occupational Health Advisor or Physician who understands what their actual role involves.

Not a generic health review. A work-focused assessment that answers your specific management questions: fitness for work, timescales, adjustments, Equality Act, meeting fitness, and next steps.

Step #4

Report Delivered. Act On It. Your comprehensive, work-focused report is issued the same day as the assessment in 95% of cases.

The employee can also view it before release (GMC-aligned). You read it, you act on it, you move the case forward. If you need technical revisions, they are done at no extra cost.

That is it. From referral to actionable clarity in days, not weeks.

What UK Organisations Say About NPH Group

We are really pleased with the excellent service provided by NPH Group. As a new client, three years ago, we were welcomed with an overview of the comprehensive range of services and how to access these. It is evident that the systems and processes have been tailored to make accessing these services very straightforward. I am struck with the clarity and helpfulness of all the staff at NPH Group. The medical reports we receive are clear and concise and support the College in addressing cases of sickness absence.

Is this right for you?

This is for you if:

  • You have a case that is not moving and a fit note that tells you nothing useful.
  • You need a defensible, independent medical opinion before you make a decision.
  • Your current provider is too slow, or the reports do not answer what you asked.
  • You are dealing with a complex case and want it handled by someone who has seen it before.
  • You want to try a provider on one case before committing to anything.
  • You work somewhere the consequences of getting fitness for work wrong are serious.

This is not for you if:

  • You want someone to tell you it is fine to dismiss an employee. We give medical opinion. The employment decision is yours.
  • You want a report that reaches a particular conclusion. Our clinicians are independent, and that is precisely what makes the report worth having.
  • You need the assessment done today. Triage and booking take a little time, and we would rather do it properly.
  • You are not able to share the referral with the employee. The process is transparent by design.

A short call with our team. We will tell you what the case needs and what it will cost, before anything is booked.

What makes NPH Group different?

Most OH providers give you the appointment. We give you the answer. Every report is triaged for complexity, written against your questions, and issued the same day as the assessment in 95% of cases.

The infrastructure behind that matters: a secure client portal with encrypted file transfer, named recipients only, and clinical oversight on every case.

Which means when the COO asks what the plan is, you have one, backed by an independent, work-focused medical opinion you can act on.

Here's The Situation You're In Right Now.

You've got absence cases that aren't moving. Long-term cases stuck at week 6, week 8, week 10, with GP fit notes that say "not fit for work" and nothing else. Short-term patterns creating Monday morning chaos on the production line. Complex cases where you are not sure if the Equality Act applies, but you are worried about getting it wrong.

Your current provider, if you have one, takes weeks to book an appointment and delivers reports that do not answer what you asked. Or maybe you have been managing without OH altogether, relying on GP notes and gut instinct, hoping nothing escalates.

Meanwhile, every week those cases drag on costs you £150 to £400 or more in direct absence costs alone. Multiply that across 3, 5, 10 open cases and the number gets ugly fast.

The Clarity Pathway gives you a different reality.

One referral. One thorough, triaged assessment. One comprehensive report, issued the same day as the assessment in 95% of cases, that tells you exactly where you stand: fitness status, return-to-work timescales, practical adjustments, Equality Act guidance, and clear next steps.

No interpretation. No guesswork.

And you are protected by The Clarity Commitment:

We guarantee your report will directly answer the questions you asked and provide actionable next steps. If it does not, we revise it at no additional cost until it does. Technical changes are always free. And if we identify that your case needs a longer appointment than you have booked, we will tell you upfront, rather than delivering an incomplete assessment and billing you for a follow-up.

Your first OHA assessment is just £145.

That is less than what a single week of absence costs you on a £40k employee. Less than the agency cover for one shift. Less than the overtime bill from last Monday morning's scramble.

Best case? You refer that stuck case today, you have a clear report by end of week, and the employee is on a phased return within a fortnight. You walk into the next leadership meeting with a documented plan backed by independent medical opinion.

Worst case? The case turns out to be more complex than expected, but now you know that, you have documentation of your due diligence, and you know exactly what the next step is.

Either way, you are better off than you were yesterday.

A short call with our team. We will tell you what the case needs and what it will cost, before anything is booked.
